New weavers will gain skills in: winding warps with multiple colours, threading two different types of twill, changing weft colours, and using different treadlings. Experienced weavers will enjoy the creative suggestions this pattern includes and enjoy having an easily hackable basic twill towel pattern to hand.

Description

The Basic Twill Towels pattern is more than just plain instruction – personal experience and pro tips and tricks are included to help you achieve great results!

  • Minimum Equipment: 4 harness loom with a minimum of 24” weaving width, 12 dent reed, 1 shuttle, 2-3 bobbins
  • Warp and weft requirements: 2 tubes Bockens Nialin 22/2 in 2002, 1 tube each Bockens Nialin 22/2 in 2048 and 2052.

This project is geared to the beginner weaver who is comfortable warping and weaving would like to follow a pattern and learn more about creating their own unique textile designs on the loom. This PDF download is 10 pages long and includes colour images outlining the process as well as the 4 pictured instructions/treadling drafts. There are a further 3 pages of variation ideas as well as 4 extra treadling drafts.
